Steve Howes // Prairie School Foundation
Steve has been actively involved with the College Community School District Prairie School Foundation for more than 25 years, including serving several terms as president.
The Prairie School Foundation supports educational opportunities, classroom innovation, and student enrichment within the College Community School District. Through decades of leadership, Steve has helped guide fundraising initiatives and strategic planning efforts that directly benefit local students and teachers.
Alex Momany // Iowa County-Focused Organizations
A lifelong Amana resident and descendant of its original settlers, attorney Alex Momany feels a deep responsibility to serve the community that shaped him. His volunteerism is not tied to one organization but includes supporting Iowa County nonprofits, youth programs, local traditions, and neighbors whenever help is needed.
Guided by his passion for helping children and families, Alex believes community service is less about holding a title and more about being someone others can count on.
Sharayah Owens // Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity
Sharayah believes that serving clients goes hand in hand with serving the community. She currently serves as a board member of Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity, amongst her involvement with other local community organizations.
Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity works to provide affordable homeownership opportunities for families in need. Sharayah’s involvement supports the organization’s mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through safe, affordable housing.
Matt Kishinami // UnityPoint Child Protection Center
Matt is committed not only to serving his clients with excellence but also to strengthening the community through leadership and mentorship. Matt’s role on the advisory board with the UnityPoint Child Protection Center allows him to contribute legal insight and guidance to help the organization continue its important mission of protecting vulnerable children in the community.
David Thinnes // Knights of Columbus
David serves on the Board of Directors for the Knights of Columbus, a global Catholic fraternal service organization known for its charitable work, community service efforts, and commitment to supporting families and local parishes.
In his role on the board, David contributes to initiatives that promote charity, unity, and service within the community. The organization supports a variety of causes, including disaster relief, scholarships, and local outreach programs that make a meaningful difference for Iowa families.
